RISING CRIME IN VICTORIA

According to the Crime Statistics Agency (CSA), March 2025, overall crime in Victoria continues to rise year-on-year. Offences include assaults on victims, home invasions, vehicle break-ins, and theft from homes and small businesses.

Home invasions alone have risen by more than 20% between 2024 and 2025, with many incidents involving youth offenders armed with weapons, sometimes resulting in injuries to residents.

Criminals are increasingly targeting vehicles, valuables, and residential properties, with suburban homes now among the most frequent victims.

Victoria Police Commissioner Mike Bush has publicly stated that “the current level of crime is unacceptable.” Across the state, 43 police stations are operating on reduced hours and the force is short by over 2,000 police officers, creating visible strain on response capabilities.

“I still remember so vividly the day my family was battered, terrified and left with a lasting fear after we fell victims of a home invasion. That day brought feelings of complete helplessness, waiting for the police to come, hoping something could be done but sadly the damage was already done. That moment changed it all, I no longer felt safe going to sleep, constantly checking my doors were locked and being triggered by the smallest of sounds. I want to ensure no one else ever has to experience the fear my family and I did that night, that is why I have made it my mission to build something that gives others what we didn’t have that night; proactive protection. Deterrent Security exists so no family ever feels hopeless and without the comfort of knowing someone is out there wanting to help keep them safe.”
