Patrols and Operations
What areas do you cover?
We currently operate nightly patrols across Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, expanding coverage weekly. You can pre-subscribe even if your suburb isn’t live yet, and we’ll notify you by email as soon as patrols begin in your area.
What hours do patrols operate?
Patrols run every night of the year, including weekends and public holidays, typically between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Patrol times vary to maximise visibility and unpredictability for offenders.
Who is this service for?
Deterrent has been designed for those most at risk; families, single parents, elderly residents and homeowners across Victoria.
Do you replace the police?
No. Police respond after a crime has occurred. Our role is prevention. We are the visible deterrent that offenders avoid. If our officers see suspicious activity, it is escalated immediately to Victoria Police.
How will I know you came?
Every patrol is digitally logged; you’ll receive a real-time notifications. Each patrol is GPS tracked, time stamped and supported by in-car 360° camera footage for verification.
What happens if suspicious activity is found?
If our patrol team identifies suspicious behaviour, the incident is immediately logged and relayed to our operations team. Depending on the situation, we may contact Victoria Police directly or notify you via SMS or phone.
Do officers leave the vehicle?
Our patrols are vehicle-based for visibility and efficiency. Officers remain inside the vehicle unless responding to a confirmed or escalated incident requiring closer visual verification.
Are your officers licensed?
Yes. Every officer holds a valid Victorian Security Licence and completes background checks, induction training, and ongoing compliance reviews in line with state regulations.
Do you work with police?
Yes. We liaise directly with Victoria Police when required, providing verified information and observations to assist with responses or investigations.
Plans, Pricing and Subscriptions
How much does it cost?
Silver: From $40 per week
Gold: From $65 per week
Platinum: From $120 per weekIs there any upfront payment?
No. You can pre-subscribe today to secure your spot. You’ll only be billed once your suburb becomes active. Subscribing early ensures activation priority when your area goes live.
Can I pay upfront?
Yes, you can pay weekly or choose to pay annually and receive a discounted rate.
Is there a contract?
Weekly subscriptions run on 6-month terms, and yearly subscriptions run on 12-month terms. You can renew, upgrade, or cancel at the end of your term.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel at any time before your suburb goes live at no cost. Once active, weekly subscriptions run on 6-month terms and yearly subscriptions run on 12-month terms.
When will I be billed?
Billing begins once your suburb becomes active and patrols start. Payments occur automatically each week unless you’ve selected an upfront option.
What happens if I need to pause my subscription?
If you’ll be away for an extended period, contact us at support@deterrent.net.au. We can activate Holiday Mode or discuss a temporary pause depending on your situation.
Can I have more than one property covered?
Yes. Our Platinum plan includes coverage for up to two properties within a 10 km radius.
What if I move houses?
Your subscription can be transferred to your new address as long as it’s within an active Deterrent coverage zone. Contact us at support@deterrent.net.au to update your details.
Alerts, Add-Ons and Technology
What if I already have an alarm or CCTV?
Patrols are most effective as part of a layered security system.
Alarms and cameras react after a break-in, while nightly patrols help prevent it from happening in the first place.What is the Holiday Mode or Vacancy Package?
When activated, patrol frequency increases while your property is unattended. This extra coverage enhances visibility and makes it clear your home or business is under regular watch.
How do I know the patrol actually happened?
Every patrol is GPS tracked, time stamped and confirmed by the attending officer.
You receive verified attendance details for full transparency and peace of mind.Is my information private?
Yes. We comply with Australian privacy laws. All patrol logs and customer information are encrypted, securely stored and never shared with third parties.
Coverage and Future Expansion
Can businesses subscribe?
Yes. We protect commercial properties such as offices, warehouses and retail sites with dedicated nightly patrol coverage.
Is this available outside Victoria?
Not yet. Our patrols currently operate across Melbourne and selected regional areas, with plans to expand in the near future.
How do I get started?
Choose your plan, complete the pre-subscription form and confirm your details. Once your suburb is live, you’ll receive an activation email confirming your patrol start date.
